When a Glasgow customer got in touch about their Worcester Greenstar 30Ri, our engineer Michael was there the same day. He serviced the boiler, sorted out the issue they’d been having, and talked them through everything as he went.
At a glance
- Location: Glasgow
- Boiler: Worcester Greenstar 30Ri
- The job: Annual service, plus an issue sorted on the same visit
- Engineer: Michael
- Response: Same day
- The result: Boiler running properly, and the customer will be booking their service with us every year
The job
The customer needed their boiler serviced and had an issue that needed sorting too. Rather than booking two separate visits, Michael did both in one go: a full service, then the fix.
He explained what he found and what he was doing at each step, so the customer knew exactly what had been done and why.
About the Worcester Greenstar 30Ri
The Greenstar 30Ri is a regular boiler, sometimes called a heat-only boiler. Unlike a combi, it works with a separate hot water cylinder, so it heats your radiators and your stored hot water rather than heating water on demand.
If your home has a hot water cylinder, there’s a good chance you have a regular boiler like this one. Looked after with a yearly service, they can keep running reliably for years.
As Worcester Accredited Installers, we’re trained on Worcester Bosch boilers, from older models like the Greenstar Ri to the latest range.

What a boiler service covers

Every boiler service from Glasgow Boiler Experts includes:
- Testing all the boiler’s safety devices
- Flue gas analysis, to check the boiler is burning safely and efficiently
- A check for gas leaks around the whole house
- Checking the boiler’s gas consumption
- Inspecting for leaks and water damage
You can find out more on our boiler servicing and Worcester boiler service pages.
Why an annual service matters
- Safety. A boiler that isn’t burning properly can produce carbon monoxide. A service checks it’s running safely.
- Fewer breakdowns. Small problems get spotted and fixed before they leave you without heating or hot water.
- Lower running costs. A well-maintained boiler runs more efficiently.
- Your warranty. Most manufacturers need a yearly service to keep the boiler’s warranty valid.
- Peace of mind. You know your boiler has been checked before the cold weather arrives.
Service or repair? One visit can do both
A service is a routine check to keep your boiler safe and efficient. A repair fixes something that’s gone wrong. Sometimes a service on its own won’t solve a problem, which is why it helps to have an engineer who can do both.
In this case Michael did both on the same visit, so the customer didn’t have to wait for a second appointment. If your boiler has a fault, see our boiler repair page.
